Is it possible to still get a decent amount of traffic if I use a domain name that is not the name of the product I am trying to sell?

In other words, I want to use a domain name that is relevant to a category of products in order to test which products will get more sales.

I am trying to avoid purchasing a domain name and hosting for a product that does poorly.

I want to be able to use the same domain name again with a different product if needed.

Is this a doomed strategy or is there a better solution?

From SEO point of view, your domain should have the product name. However, it doesn't matter to not to have that domain name. Your marketing strategies will make your domain strong.

for example: 2gbhosting.com is the website that provides web hosting services, and has a strong keyword.

Here is the another example: nexuswebmarketing.com is the website that provides SEO solutions and doesn't include keyword.

But still, both the domain name is working great, getting lots of traffics daily.
